Soapstone is extremely durable and versatile, yet it exudes warmth and softness to the touch. This unique combination has made it the current material of choice for a variety of applications.
Why should I choose soapstone?
Quarried naturally with absolutely no synthetics, Saratoga Soapstone is practically indestructible – it is heat and stain resistant, requires almost no maintenance and adds elegance and enduring value to any project. For those looking for a change of pace from traditional stone, Saratoga Soapstone offers a beautifully unique option that works well with a range of designs, from modern and sleek to rustic and classical.
How do I take care of my soapstone countertop?
It is not necessary to use oil or sealers on the stone. With regular use, untreated soapstone will soon begin to take on its own natural patina. For those who prefer an enhanced patina effect, mineral oil and some light penetrating sealers will bring out a dark richness to the stone’s natural color. They will also act as a protective sealing layer. Any superficial marks or darkening that may occur can be scrubbed or sanded off of the stone.
